Open Educational Technologists

With the generous support of CUNY’s Office of Library Services, the GC Digital Initiatives and the Teaching and Learning Center are home to two open educational technologists, who support teaching, learning, scholarship, and service done on the CUNY Academic Commons and Manifold.

Laurie Hurson, Open Educational Technologist, Teaching and Learning Center

Laurie Hurson is a PhD Candidate in Environmental Psychology at the Graduate Center. Her work explores students’ learning ecologies and how these resource networks shape student learning. She teaches “Principles of New Media” at Baruch College and has a background in faculty development programming and open source educational technology support and development. Previously, Laurie was a Graduate Fellow at the GC TLC and a Hybrid Coordinator at Baruch College’s Center for Teaching and Learning. Laurie supports projects on the CUNY Academic Commons, and can be reached at lhurson[at]gc.cuny.edu.
